The Sunday Currently, Volume 4

Reading

I started reading this (ebook) last week, and it so profoundly moving, exquisitely observed memoir by a 36-year-old neurosurgeon who sought to answer "what make life worth living," while undergoing stage 4 lung cancer.

I flipped through the CT scan images, the diagnosis obvious: the lungs were matted with innumerable tumors, the spine deformed, a full lobe of the liver obliterated. Cancer, widely dessiminated. I was a neurosurgical resident entering my final year of training. Over the last six years, I'd examined scores of such scans, on the off chance that some procedure might benefit the patient. But this scan was different: it was my own.
Sigh!

Writing
I am writing letters for my husband and father. Today is Father's Day!

Listening
Walt Disney Songs on Spotify

Watching
I finished watching Virgin River on Netflix and waiting for Season 2. Still browsing what to watch next.

Thinking
I have not done much thinking lately, actually; sort of on auto pilot. I just do what I needed to do.

Smelling
The coffee brewing. In a few I will be having my breakfast, and I can savor it with my family as there is no meeting to go to today. Hooray!

Wishing
I could spend time with my folks, soon!

Hoping
My folks are all right in the province. It's hard to be away from your folks, really. They are in their 80s.

Wearing
A Promod romper. One of my favorites because it is so comfy!

Loving
The day because it is Sunday, and I get to spend quality time with my family.

Wanting
A break!

Needing
A breakthrough!

Feeling
Overwhelmed!

Clicking
Nothing. I will stay away from social media today!
