When you are asked to draw up a wishlist, you know that Christmas is nearing.

Lately, I have never looked at my household the same way I did. So my wishlist this year will be home appliances, and what better place can I get these appliances but from De'Longhi.

1. Dehumidier

I dislike humid and musty environments thus the need for a dehumidier. According to ExplainThatStuff.com, whether you have a damp problem with your building (rising or penetrating damp) or your moisture comes from cooking or drying laundry inside (condensation), the result can be a horrible musty smell, mold growing on your walls (and on your clothes), and a greater risk of respiratory illness. It can take time to sort out a major damp problem so what do you do in the meantime? One solution is to invest in a dehumidifier: an electric gadget that removes moisture from the air.

I posted this Christmas is Family on a Saturday. And on Sunday, Fr. Jun Sescon's message in the Sunday homily is about family.

Each one starts and ends with the family. The basic foundation of a person is nurtured from the family. Thus, family is really important.

Buying gifts for the holidays can be a challenge for anybody, but sometimes buying for that special man in your life is the most difficult of all. Even if you’re buying for a child in their 20s or 30s, knowing what to get – other than cash – isn’t always an easy task.

This year though, there are a whole host of ideas that can help you give the perfect gift for any man. Use this guide to make sure you wrap the best present of the season.

Hair Care Products

Most men won’t spend a ton of money on hair care products for themselves. It just doesn’t seem like a necessary expense to a guy that has short hair and washes it each morning in a hurry to get to work.

However, a lot of guys will really enjoy specialty hair care products if they are provided for them. There are a ton of companies out there, but focus on the ones designed to promote healthy hair, especially if the guy you’re buying for uses a fair amount of product for their style on regular basis.

You should also look for products that come in many scents like cedar, sandalwood or even leather. They’re a lot more appropriate than the hair care products that are scented with jasmine, honeydew, rose, ylang ylang or lavender.

Keep those for yourself this season and give him the masculine scents.

Facial Care Products

A lot of men are sporting beards these days because it’s a very popular look. Even men in corporate America are wearing beards at this point. Most guys really don’t know how to take care of their beards the right way though.

Like hair on your face, beards need some special attention and beard grooming products. For the budding beardsman, one of the best gifts you can get is a simple trimmer with different settings for length. That way a guy can grow a longer beard or keep it close to the skin.

Other grooming products include beard oil, which keeps the hair healthy, supple and relatively soft, as well as mustache wax. Believe it or not, there’s a big market for mustache wax among men in their 20s, 30s and 40s right now.

Look for beard oil scents that you know he will like. Examples include rosewater, cedar, orange or even clove oil.

A story of an underdog winning over.

Much like Jesus, whose birth we are celebrating today, who came to save us all but we made him suffer and die. Praise God for resurrection that He may live forever with us.

It's Christmas.

Some view it as a time to reflect on God's love for us. The Child Jesus joined mankind so that we can get to know him closely and more deeply.

That is why Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love retelling the Story of Christmas when Child Jesus was born in a manger. From such humble beginnings, He grew to become our savior.

Some others, especially children, look at Christmas as giving and receiving gifts. I can't say there's something wrong with that. After all, God is the first unconditional giver. Father God sent his only son to save us. We are saved! He is our greatest gift ever!

So, for me, it's OK to look forward to Christmas because of the giving and receiving gifts. Who doesn't enjoy making a list and buying the gifts for a friend or a family member? The feeling of finding the right gift, after careful consideration, is to me pure happiness.

It's not easy to find that perfect gift for someone. Thanks to SM Supermalls, that daunting task is made a lot easier. The store has everything I need for all the preferences of my friends and families - from the youngest member of the family to the oldest. You name it, SM got it all for you!

Last year at Christmas, my family spent three nights and four days at Microtel MOA, and so we were at SM MOA the whole time. I really didn't think that I could get tired of being at MOA! We checked out every nook and cranny of MOA, lol - from restos to cinemas and other entertainment shops, to stores.

It was really one Merry SM Christmas!

This year, we will definitely go to SM for our merry Christmas shopping, especially that there's the SM Cares’ Bears of Joy.

The joy of giving this Christmas takes a higher level when you give for a cause. For just P200, you get to keep one bear and donate the other to children from various orphanages and charitable institutions.
