Hello there, Monday!
Why do you come so soon? Ha ha!
You may have noticed that of all my series posts here, it's the Monday Work Mood that I don't often miss. That is because I want to start my week accomplishing something, even if it's as simple and easy as publishing this kind of post. It's the next best wake-up to-do after
making your bed every morning.
So, for this week, my thoughts veered toward working alone in a workplace. It gets lonely din pala. He he!
It's different from having a room for yourself but when you go outside, you have people to talk to, share ideas with, banter with, and share breakfast or lunch, or even dinner after work.
Although, I can work in my former office, being a remote worker now, but the thing with being a WAHM, it needs extra convincing to lure me and make me brave the rush-hour traffic. It's not like when you are really obliged to go to the office to work.
My leap of faith to work remotely and remembering the circumstances that surround that decision, still make my heart ache.

I read this on my LinkedIn wall last night, and I think it's a good Monday mood board that will set the week.
My inspiration for this is my husband for I've seen and witnessed how he mentors and develops his staff members to be good at their ball game. Because of this he would find himself working with new people most of the time as his old staff members would go off to head other departments. Some leave the company and find better executive opportunities outside.
I asked him one time, how he does that as I also want to do the same. I also want to have the same influence on my team members. He said that he mentors his staff. He coaches them, telling them what to do at first then leaving them how to do it and improve on it by themselves. He would often tell them, too, to present him with solutions and not problems. Then he finished it off by saying that he was able to do this because he was mentored well by his former bosses as well.
Mentoring. Coaching. These two, for me, should be part of a leader's to-dos.

At work, today is D-Day!
We are launching the Ultimate Brain Training Wearable in Indiegogo.
Check out the video above and get a glimpse of what we're up to.
We have a Memorie game app, and when you play the games, you need to wear the SenzeBand, the EEG-based headband to measure your brain activity while playing the games.
Find out more at the
Neeuro Website.
Incidentally, you can already pre order
here (scroll down to the end of the page).

Around this time of the year in the past, I remember I would be busy with finance stuff leading to completing the Financial Statement.
Then, there would be a flurry of to-do's to meet the requirements for the renewal of business permits for four offices.
On top of that is the preparation for giving our bonuses / rewards, and then Christmas party.
It was toxic... but suddenly, I'm missing it! *insert here rolling eyes icon*

Monday.
Start of the work week, and I used to hate it. Not anymore. I am back to the groove where I have more control of my time.
There is more time to research, to brainstorm, and most of all to think.
I am no longer shackled by dos-and-don'ts. My father after all warned me of a regimented life. It didn't work for me then, and I guess, it won't ever work for me. He knows me really well.
See the antique Singer sewing machine pictured above? The machine is older than me. I remember my Lola Petra commissioning someone to sew dresses for me and my cousins when we were little. My mother, who is also into sewing, then took over the dressmaking chores for us. I grew up in beautiful sewn short dresses. And I would go to Sunday masses in Sunday's best! The practice just got broken when I went to and came home from UP-D where I imbibed the (super) casual dressing.
The Singer, though a reliable brand for sewing machines, has stood the test of time. I don't know how many times it had broken down, or when it exactly stopped working. But to my mind, it kept on working and working efficiently because it knows its purpose. It is focused on working for its sole purpose, which is to sew.
What are you good at?
To be really effective at what you do, you have to focus. Focus on the one thing that you are good at.
Multi-tasking is just a modern word for the old saying, "jack of all trades, master of none."
