5 Reasons Why Traveling Together is Good for the Family

The best bonding for family is to travel together. Here are 5 reasons why:

1. Away from the househelp and nannies, you get the kids to do chores together with you like washing the dishes, keeping their things, and even doing laundry for their soiled clothes.

2. You are doing exclusively together, so you get to rediscover each other's quirks and temper, and you love them all over again, ha ha!

3. You get your kids to eat food they don't normally eat when in the city and in the comfort of your home like fruits, vegetables, fish, and other native food products. My elder son, for example, declared that his favorite fruit now is "siniguelas." Ha ha!

4. You learn and discover new things together, and it's quite fun! In our case, my husband is so into history. This rubs off on my two sons. So, our travel time is consumed with a good and fun discussion on history, including family lineage. This is also an advantage of traveling with grown ups, teeners in our case.

5. If your travel itinerary includes going to the beaches and mountains, you and your kids learn to appreciate nature and the preservation of the environment more. In our recent trip, we learned about mangroves and fish sanctuaries, farms, and fruit trees.

So, if you can, do invest in a family trip at least once a year. It doesn't have to be a grand one. Even a staycation will do; as long as you're all together and off to somewhere, then it's cool! And did you know that traveling is good for your health?
