Back when I was present in all school activities of my kids.
As of this time, I've missed the Parent's Orientation and the Flu Vaccine.

I thought the kids were all outside playing, but to my surprise, I found my elder son studying upstairs. I blurted, "Wow, studying on a Friday night? That's progress!" Then he went, "I have a test tomorrow." "Exam week na ba?" I asked. "Yes!" he replied. "How come I didn't know?" I asked again. "That's because you're hardly here." he replied.
"You're hardly here."
Ouch! The punchline hit the bull's eye.
It's true. I'm hardly here. I'm hardly there for the kids. Good thing, they're much older now, and I've trained them to do their homework by themselves. Still, they are not 100% independent yet. They are not much wiser, either. Thus, they still need me for most of their needs (no pun intended).
I have never been busier! I guess because, I'm still adjusting to my new work schedule. In time, I should get the rhythm and get back to being efficient for 10 hours at most.
For now, I am grateful that my husband is super understanding, and my kids are getting by without me. Plus, my ever reliable Ate Tata is there to do all the household chores.
Meanwhile, pardon me for being an absentee parent. #chickensad.
