Understanding that Parent-Child Relationship

This post is long overdue. I got these lessons from the parent-child recollection in my son's school last February. Then it sat in the draft for more than a month now, lol.

I got a lot of affirmations this weekend to last me a lifetime.

Every manifestation of a behavior has a story behind it. Thus, instead of judging right away and declaring that the child is difficult, analyze why he is behaving that way. Focus on the why, not on the what.

Allow a person to love you the way he can. Oftentimes we dictate on the person how he or she should love us. Or we fit that person's manifestation of love to how we do it ourselves. A case in point: you love to receive flowers and chocolates on special occasions, but the person you love would show affection through quiet dinner dates. Then you feel disappointed because you didn't get what you wanted or expected. Many of us are guilty of this. It's important that we listen to our partner's language of love.

When it comes to husband and wife relationship, remember that infidelity is a choice. I totally agree. Even when you're married, you can still get attracted to other people. How you react to that attraction is up to you. Why do something that you know is wrong? You have to have a conscious effort to commit to your partner.

I added the last part because I believe that the best way to show your child that you love them is to love your husband or wife.
